Construction was completed in February 2020 at a cost of Tk 3.29 crore and since then they have written to fire and civil defense authorities several times for the official handover of the station, said the Executive Engineer Harun Ar Rashid of Patuakhali PWD.
As the firefighters raised objections to the adjacent road, they have already urged the municipality of Galachipa to rebuild it, he added.
Contacted, the mayor of Galachipa Ahsanul Haque Tuhin said that the road reconstruction process was already underway and that they sent a project proposal to the relevant ministry for the construction of a 1.5 kilometer long road. in reinforced concrete (RCC), at a cost of 4.75 Tk. crore.
They would start working as soon as the fund was allocated, he added.
