Narrow house

Small western country house the size of three parking spaces on the market for £109,000

A West Country home the size of a fifth of a tennis court is on the market for £109,000.

The aptly named “Backabit Cottage” sits between two neighbors of somewhat more substantial size. The listing says it has a “narrow but useful faceplate” that looks a bit fuzzy – unless you plan to practice your hitting and bowling.

That’s for the modest price of £109,000, reflecting its more than modest size. It has one bedroom and one bathroom, but both look decently sized; there’s plenty of room around the double bed, as well as a tub/shower combo in the bathroom that has ample floor space between all of its vanities, reports Somerset Live.

A defining feature is the reception porch, with potting shelves and psychedelic-style windows, adding character to an already sparkling property. Another desirable item is the wood burning stove, and with a house of this size I’m sure it would heat up in no time, the beams on top definitely add to the undeniable charm of the property.

The kitchen looks surprisingly spacious and offers all modern appliances including a dishwasher. The location is also very convenient, as Highbridge station is only a ten minute walk away and the M5 is also instantly accessible, meaning you could be in Bristol in 45 minutes by car or train, and in Bridgwater or Taunton less.

It’s quite a bit larger than the smallest house in Somerset, so unfortunately there’s no claim to county fame. But, if you are looking for a cozy corner of property for your first home that is in a great location, look no further.
