Jeff Bridges walked his daughter down the aisle after battling Covid and cancer.
‘The Big Lebowski’ actor, 72, took on the role of father of the bride when he helped his daughter Hayley Bridges get married in Santa Ynez Valley, California, Santa Barbara County .
He and his daughter were only pictured in Brides magazine after the nuptials in August 2021.
Dressed in a navy suit, white shirt and light blue tie, he walked his youngest child down the aisle of Kestrel Park as the interior designer married heritage adviser Justin Shane .
The ceremony was originally scheduled for August 2020 but was postponed due to the pandemic, with 123 wedding guests in attendance after mask restrictions were lifted in California.
Hatley said of Jeff raising a glass to the couple: “My dad gave a welcoming speech and brought up a trait of Justin that I also mentioned in my vows… which is that kids and dogs love him. . I believe this is an example of his wonderful energy.
Jeff has been married to his wife, film producer Susan Geston, since 1977, and they have two eldest daughters, Isabelle and Jessica.
Images from Bride magazine have surfaced after the actor nearly died when he was struck down by Covid in January 2021.
His resistance was compromised as he was undergoing chemotherapy for his non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
He said he lacked the drive to fight the virus as best he could and felt he was “dancing with mortality”.
Jeff has been in remission from lymphoma since September 2021 and is currently promoting his new FX show “The Old Man”.
