things are heating up Dragon House! After a lot of politics and family drama in the first two episodes of HBO’s long-awaited series game of thrones spin-off series, the action kicked up a notch in episode 3 as Daemon Targaryen (Matt Smith) made a gory example of the Crabfeeder. Meanwhile, King Viserys (Paddy Considine) and his daughter Rhaenyra (Milly Alcock) are out hunting in the Kingswood neither of them seem to particularly like, with people trying to manipulate them each to their own ends. . By the end of the episode, Viserys and Rhaenyra have found a tenuous peace with the idea that the princess will have her own wedding.
But how will it all fall apart Dragon House Episode 4, “The King of the Straits”? According to the trailer, the answer is “messy.” Let’s break it down.
A prophecy in steel
The trailer begins with a hot stab of a certain dagger as Rhaenyra reads ominous words: “From my blood comes the prince that was promised, and his shall be a song of ice and fire.”
It’s the cat’s paw dagger of Game of thrones, the one Arya Stark used to kill the Night King. Once you heat it up, apparently you can see writing on it. Maybe that’s where Rhaenyra read that prophecy?
“King of the Narrow Sea” will revisit the twist at the end of the premiere, when Viserys revealed to Rhaenyra that Aegon the Conqueror had prophetic dreams about the White Walkers storming Westeros and conquered the continent in part to unite. the houses before the wars come.
Next, Otto Hightower (Rhys Ifans) still looks smug as he gazes up at the Iron Throne.
And then we get our first huge punch in the gut. Forget the prophecies; Daemon got his hair cut! What do we think of this new look?
Alicent Hightower (Emily Carey) is worried, but probably not about Daemon’s hair. Later in the trailer, we learn that Alicent’s son, Aegon, is now three years old, which means a whole year has passed since episode 3. So, we can assume that Alicent is no longer pregnant here. Unless baby number three is on the way…in which case, someone is giving that poor girl a break.
The skull of Balerion the Black Dread. Years may have passed since we last saw him, but these Targaryen maids are really good at making sure the candles stay lit.
The House of the Dragon will be one for a new generation… right?
In the Iron Throne Room, Viserys gets philosophical about how House Targaryen will be united for the foreseeable future. He is shown with his crown on a pillow, putting it on before holding court.
From the way the plans line up in the trailer, it looks like Viserys will be handling Daemon Targaryen’s return to King’s Landing. “They have appointed me King of the Narrow Sea,” Daemon tells his brother-daddy as the knights of the Kingsbuard hold him at sword point. Daemon is wearing his driftwood crown here, which is a neat little detail from George RR Martin Fire & Blood.
Next, we see Rhaenyra and Ser Criston Cole (Fabien Frankel) entertained by Boremund Baratheon (Julian Lewis Jones). No idea who the young man facing them is, but from the Baratheon sigil on the wall above Rhaenyra, we’re guessing this scene takes place in Storm’s End. We never really got to see the inside of the castle on game of thronesso it’s exciting that we visit it in Dragon House.
Although they are nice at the end of “Second of His Name”, Rhaenyra and Viserys still have problems in “King of the Narrow Sea”. Viserys tells her that her courtship is over, so it seems she still hasn’t decided who to marry. She accuses him of having put an end to his tour of the suitors of the kingdom in order to “remedy [his] political headaches,” and he replies that she is his political puzzle.
This conversation takes place in Viserys’ room; you can see his model of Old Valyria in the background.
A new day dawns on King’s Landing:
Throughout the trailer, someone is heard speculating on who will become the next ruler of Westeros: “Who will it be? The brother, the daughter or the little prince of three? That last line about the prince lingers on this photo of Alicent with her child. However, this baby is clearly not a 3 year old. This is more than likely Alice and Viserys’ second child, Helaena Targaryen.
