Bridges slammed ‘laid back’ Paul for his boxing knowledge, after the YouTube star claimed Amanda Serrano was robbed of the win over Taylor, and used punching stats as evidence to try to prove it .
Boxing star Ebanie Bridges has called Jake Paul ‘laid back’ after using punching stats to prove Amanda Serrano deserved the win over Katie Taylor.
Paul was at ringside to watch his Serrano charge succumb to a narrow split decision loss in a historic undisputed title clash at Madison Square Garden. He was unhappy with the decision to award the victory to Taylor after the fight and claimed the Puerto Rican was “robbed”.
Paul posted a screenshot of punch stats showing Serrano beating Taylor 173 to 147 in a bid to prove Serrano deserved the decision, with the caption: “Amanda Serrano beat Katie Taylor in body punches and head. Men lie. Women lie. Numbers don’t.”
Bridges hit back at the star for his plea by tweeting: “No Jake I’m sorry but it doesn’t work that way. If boxing was just judged by the total number of punches received at the end of the fight we wouldn’t have no need for judges just a countdown This post shows how little you know about boxing and I really like what you are doing for women’s boxing but no this post is casual as fuck.
Taylor was nearly stopped earlier in the fight after the hard-hitting Serrano led an attack in the sixth round. However, the Irish star recovered with brave courage and produced a scintillating finish to the contest.
Paul and Taylor had shared harsh words ahead of the meeting with Serrano, after Taylor claimed Paul “knew nothing” about being involved in a historic boxing match. The YouTube star quickly hit back at Taylor, accusing him and promoter Eddie Hearn of “talking shit.”

“Katie, I appreciate you thanking me for making this fight happen on a level that Eddie never could,” he tweeted in response to his interview. But the only real thing is that you, your team and Eddie are talking a lot of bullshit but you can’t confirm it. Respect on your heritage. But Amanda Serrano is the greatest boxer of all time.”
Two of the judges opted to give Taylor the go-ahead with scores of 97-93 and 96-93, which gave Taylor the split decision. Serrano won the fight 96-94 by the third judge.
Taylor was delighted with her display and believes any rematch between the pair should be brought home to Ireland. “Absolutely. We have to start over,” she told reporters. “It was an absolute war for 10 rounds. I’m grateful to be in this position and sell Madison Square Garden. Look what we just did.
“We all want to see the best against the best. Yeah absolutely a rematch would be absolutely phenomenal. If it was in Dublin we could sell Croke Park, if you think the atmosphere was special here tonight imagine the rematch in front of 80,000 people at Croke Park. Absolutely amazing.”
