The camp was split between three different age groups and the athletes were able to work with Bridges and Dobbs to learn basketball skills and hone existing ones.

Dobbs and Bridges wanted to give back to the Fairmont community and Dobbs said he hopes the kids will come away with a “hard work pays off” mindset.

“That you just have to work hard. It won’t be easy to get into college, so I just want these kids to know that you have to work hard and listen, ”Dobbs said.

Between the three age groups, many young athletes came to the armory to receive instruction from college basketball stars.

“It’s a great participation. The children we had yesterday [Saturday] I loved and enjoyed it and we already had a group today [Sunday] and now we’re in our second group and it was fun to be with these kids and they really enjoyed that, ”Dobbs said.
